Since 2015, the German start-up Prothelis has been developing not only tracker hardware, but also its firmware and the associated app and web portal completely in-house. Almost two years after the market launch of the Greta mini tracker [1], the manufacturer is now selling the meintal, short for “my tracker and locator”. The device is the size of a bar of soap and has 5 ampere hours of battery capacity, which is supposed to be enough for up to 500 days of standby. There is no need to worry about a cellular SIM and a tariff – Prothelis supplies both for almost worldwide use.
